Wall of Death Career Opportunity

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

If you know how to ride a motorcycle and are willing to relocate to the UK, there could be a career for you at Messham’s Wall of Death. The job involves riding a bike, 20 feet above the floor at up to 100 kph around the inner wall of wooden plank vertical drum.

The job posting states: “Must not be afraid to take risks. Experience riding a motorcycle necessary, Wall of Death training will be given. Hours are 1pm to 11pm Saturday and 1pm to 9pm Sunday. Job involves travel and salary is negotiable”

“We’ve never got enough riders,” said James Messham, owner of the 80-year-old ‘Wall of Death’ motorcycle stunt riding company.

The obvious risk is riding the wall too slow and falling off, but ride too fast and you’ll restrict blood flow to your brain which can lead to a black out, says the company’s star rider, Jake Messham Jr. The 19-year old has been riding the wall since he was 14 and still loves it despite having been sidelined for 7 months, after breaking his ankle in 4 places.

“It is the biggest buzz ever,” Jake enthused. “There is nothing else like it.”

A ringing endorsement if we’ve ever heard one. Check out the Messhams in action below.
