Track Day App for Smartphone

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Ant West, Australian Moto2 racer, has developed a smartphone app that will provide track day telemetry for the weekend warrior.  Race Sense will use the sensors in your smartphone to record acceleration, braking force, lean angle, speed and track position. It is said to copy the data acquisition of top-level race teams.

West helped finance development of the app, which took place in Italy, with a software designer who is also an avid rider. West’s racing experience contributed to the development of the app.

Race Sense is not the first app of its kind, but it will link to Facebook and Twitter so you can post your track day to social media and will plot all of your info onto Google maps. It may also help settle the bench-racing arguments as to who really leaned over the farthest and going the fastest.

Race Sense will soon be available for iPhone and Android and there will be a desktop version available for PC. Track day telemetry? Now there’s an app for that.
