Yamaha debuts WSBK squad

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Yamaha has officially debuted its World Superbike squad, the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team. Riding duo Sylvain Guintoli, WSBK champ in 2014, and Alex Lowes, British Superbike champ in 2013, will ride YZF-R1s prepared by Crescent Racing’s factory-backed team.

“We know it will be a new and challenging adventure,” said Eric de Seynes, COO of Yamaha Motor Europe. “This is the reason we have carefully selected all the persons and partners that will be with us. Working with the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team we believe we are ready to make a big push and start fighting from the first race.”

That first race will be February 27 at Phillip Island, Australia.
