3D printing prints a motorcycle

It’s an Italian electric superbike that will go 240 km/h
An Italian company has created what it calls the “first Italian electric motorcycle” using a 3D printing process.

The Energica Ego was built using selective laser sintering technology and polyamide-based materials reinforced with carbon fibre, which is called “Windform,” to produce fairings, headlight covers, and other components, but not hardware such as mechanical and electrical parts.

The company that built it, the CRP Group, plans to offer the bike to the public in 2015, but the model that goes on sale will be built with more usual technologies, they say. They also say it’ll go 240 km/h and will run for 150 km.
