Huge Honda Gold Wing recall

By: Cycle Canada Published on 5 November 2015

Honda has issued a massive recall of 910,663 GL1800 Gold Wings, model years 2001–2015, due to a rear brake issue. On certain bikes the combined braking system’s secondary master cylinder could cause the rear brake to drag. This could cause a buildup of heat that may result in the rear brake catching fire, and could also adversely affect stability and handling.

The fix? Dealers will replace the secondary master cylinder with one incorporating a modified check valve. They will also replace the rear master cylinder and flush the brake fluid.
