Recall: 2011 Ducati Diavel

By: Derreck Roemer Published on 8 July 2011

Ducati has issued a recall on all 2011 Diavel and Diavel Carbon models. The mounting hardware for the bike’s chain guard and license plate holder could deform, says Transport Canada’s notice, allowing the plate holder to loosen and interfere with the motorcycle’s rear wheel. Full details from Transport Canada below.

Transport Canada Recall # 2011238

Manufacturer Recall # RCL-11-002

Recall Details

On certain Diavel and Diavel Carbon motorcycles, the chain guard was manufactured with brass inserts that could deform over time. This could allow the license plate holder to loosen and interfere with the motorcycle’s rear wheel, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the chain guard with an updated version.
