Bayliss back at it in WSBK

Three-time World Superbike champ Troy Bayliss has already filled in once for Davide Giugliano this season, taking the injured Italian’s spot on the Aruba.it Ducati team for World Superbike’s opening round at Phillip Island, Australia. Bayliss qualified 12th, finished 13th in Race One and 16th in Race Two – not exactly the stellar return from retirement his home crowd was hoping for.

But with WSBK’s second round coming soon and Giugliano still not fit to race, the aging racing star has got another shot. Bayliss will again fill in on the Ducati team, this time at Thailand’s Chang International Circuit on March 20-22.

“I’m really excited to be able to ride the Panigale R again,” Bayliss said. “It will be great to work with the team again. Compared to the Phillip Island round, organized pretty much at the last minute, this time I’ve had the chance to train and prepare myself properly. I’m really motivated and feeling ready; I can’t wait to get back on track!”
