Kawasaki Versys 1000 to Make North American Debut at Toronto Supershow

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Kawasaki’s all-new Versys 1000 will make its North American debut next weekend during the 36th Annual North American International Motorcycle Supershow at Toronto’s International Centre — the Japanese manufacturer having opted out of participating in the MMIC-run Toronto Motorcycle Show held in December.

A litre-bike variant of Kawasaki’s original 650 cc “adventure sport” model, the Versys 1000 is powered by a detuned version of the same liquid-cooled inline four found in Kawasaki’s Z1000, and features two power modes and three-level traction control to help harness its claimed 116 hp output.

The rest of Kawasaki’s 2012 motorcycle line-up will also be on display at the Supershow, including the new Ninja ZX-14R which, as you may have already noticed, graces the cover of our latest issue. Read Paul Penzo’s first ride review of the mean green machine here.

The Motorcycle Supershow runs Friday January 6th to January 8th. Visit www.supershowevents.com for more information.
