MV Agusta has revealed the 2012 Brutale RR 1090, the most powerful naked model in their range.

The RR 1090 replaces the current 1090RR (note the RR is now prefix instead of suffix) and gains some significant upgrades. The new top-of-line Brutale uses the same 1,078cc inline-four as before, but more extreme cam profiles, cleaner intake tracts and larger throttle bodies mean power is up from the old RR’s 144bhp to 158bhp. Dry weight meanwhile drops 7kg to 183kg, and as with MV’s other recent releases — the F3 and Brutale 675 — the RR 1090 comes equipped with 8-level traction control. It also features revised engine mapping, a slipper clutch, and a hand-welded CroMo steel frame with adjustable steering geometry. The bike’s front is suspended is by a 50mm Marzocchi USD fork, while the rear features a Sachs shock, adjustable for both high and low speed compression. Brembo Monoblock calipers grab 320mm discs to stop forged aluminum wheels that replace the current cast hoops and shed 1kg in unsprung weight. For added flare there’s also a projector beam/LED headlight and LED turn signals.

Priced at € 18,800 in Europe, the 2012 Brutale RR 1090 comes in matte grey/matte black, red/silver and “America,” i.e. red/white/blue. Canadian pricing and availability are TBD.
