The MMIC (Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council) and the MCC (Motorcyclist Confederation of Canada) announced today that it has authorized motorcycle dealerships across Canada to provide a free one-year MCC membership with the purchase of any new street-legal motorcycle or scooter.

MCC President Peter Jacobs said of the decision “the MCC and its member federations, associations and clubs are constantly working on issues of safety, land access, promotion of the sport. This program will enhance our ability to serve the rider while they enjoy their chosen recreation or transportation. We greatly appreciate the industry’s support of our work on behalf of riders.”

Eligible riders can obtain their free membership by filling in their personal information and the VIN number of their new bike on the MCC website (www.motorcycling.ca). Once the new bike owner has registered with the MCC, a discount package that is part of the membership takes effect, which includes a 15% discount on motorcycle insurance. More details can be found on their website.
