Chambly, Qc – Jess Pettis had a great start aboard his WP suspension equipped 2019 KTM 250 SX-F for the first round of the 250 AMA SX at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. He leaves California with a holeshot and a 4th place finish in the first heat race with a top 10 finish in the final.

On Saturday night in Anaheim, Pettis funneled through the barrage of the 250’s when the gates dropped for the first 250 heat to score the holeshot. He then battled through, moving positions to end with a 4th place finish in the first heat and looking forward to the main event.

In the main event, the rain was making the good lines hard to find, not to mention the traction that was an issue for many racers. Jess managed to keep the bike up the whole night and held a solid performance for being the only Canadian out of the entire fleet of top American racers and finished the main event with 10th place.

Jess Pettis – KTM RED BULL THOR Factory MX2 Racer: “A1 was an amazing experience, I enjoyed the whole day and felt like I rode awesome. I qualified 12th, lead the heat race and finished 4th place in it, not to mention 10th place finish in the Main. Great start to 2019! “

Jean-Sebastien Roy – KTM Red Bull THOR Factory Racing Team Manager: “This was an amazing weekend for Jess’s debut with KTM. He’s only been riding his new 250 SX-F for 4 weeks now and he performed at his best against the top racers in American Supercross. Jess and Mathieu, his mechanic, have been working extremely hard in the last month to be able to compete for the AMA SX series in2019 season. Congrats to them. This is a confidence boost for the Canadian series coning up in 3 months.  “

The AMA SX series continues next week for round 2 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Be sure to check out the full schedule of the AMA SX to follow Jess’s journey as he battles his way to the top.
