Christophe Pourcel goes 2-1 to win the final round in Barrie, ON

By: Cycle Canada Published on 15 August 2017

Having entered the final round of the CMRC Nationals 15 points behind Matt Goerke, Pourcel was focused on winning the MX1 class, and then letting the points take care of themselves.

Pourcel: “This weekend I went 2-1 and took the overall win and second in the championship. I could only focus on myself and do everything I could to finish in front and make up as many points as I could. Facciotti was a little better than I was in Moto 1 so I settled for second. I think we missed the title by a couple points. It could have been different without the impound penalty in Truro, but you can always say what if! Matt rode consistently all season and we had 2 or 3 results off the podium. It was a good season and we are happy to be going home safe. Thank you to all the great companies and people involved who made this effort possible. “
