Tom Sykes recently extended his contract with the Kawasaki Racing Team, a deal that will see the defending World Superbike champion stay with the squad through the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

“I am very excited to re-sign,” Sykes said. “The decision was quite easy. I am looking forward to another two years with a great manufacturer. I have put so much work into the bike I would not want to give my baby to someone else!”

Considering his stellar record on the green machine, the decision to stay with Kawasaki seems like a no-brainer. All 22 of Sykes’ career WSBK victories have come on Kawasakis, and the Brit boasts 23 Superpole wins to boot. In 151 WSBK race starts he’s claimed 46 podiums and 21 fastest laps. Sykes currently enjoys a 44-point lead in the 2014 WSBK championship standings.
