BMW recall

By: Cycle Canada Published on 30 April 2014

BMW Motorrad has issued a recall for its 2012-2013 R1200GS model. The recall is due to a possible problem with the gearbox sealing ring, which on certain motorcycles could cause oil to leak into the swingarm. If the swingarm’s sealing bellow is not properly tightened then oil could leak onto the rear tire.

The recall involves 187 bikes, with dealers correcting the problem by installing a sealing ring retaining bracket.
