WSBK confirms U.S. round at Laguna Seca

World Superbike has recently confirmed that the series will return to Laguna Seca this season. GEICO Motorcycle has been signed as the presenting sponsor, with the round scheduled to take place from July 11-13 at the track just outside Monterey, California.

WSBK made a tentative return to Laguna Seca last season for the first time in ten years and the response was positive. Better timing for this season (July vs. Sept.) coupled with the departure of MotoGP’s Laguna Seca stop should mean this year’s crowd will be even bigger.

“GEICO is the proper teammate to promote the World Superbike event in the U.S.,” said Marc Saurina, commercial and marketing director for WSBK. “We’re glad to be the most important two-wheel world event at the iconic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and we look forward to gathering a great number of followers, bikers and motorcycle fans in Monterey this summer.”
