Triumph Rocket III for 2013

Less is more. But as Niles Crane once said: if less is more, think how much more more is. If more is your thing, then Triumph’s 2013 Rocket III should be right up your alley. For 2013, there are two models of the Rocket III; a naked Roadster that sports a pair of bug-eye headlights and the Touring model with a single headlight, plexi windscreen, footboards and hard bags.

The big news is in the engine compartment. Triumph claims a towering 146 hp out of the 2.3 litre three cylinder for the Roadster; Touring owners will have to make do with a claimed 105 hp. Previous editions of the Rocket III electronically limited torque delivery in the first three gears. For 2013, the torque limiter has been deleted, giving a full delivery of the claimed 163 ft-lbs of torque (only 149 ft-lbs for the Touring) at any time.

For 2013, the Roadster has a 43mm upside-down fork, blacked out trim and stretched out mufflers for a ominous look. Triple disc brakes come with Nissin calipers and standard ABS. Powerful brakes are an asset with all that power and a claimed 367 kg wet weight (395 kg in Touring trim).

Colours are Phantom Black for both versions and Matte Black is available give Roadster customer something to mull over. Canadian pricing will be available soon.
