Ducati has begun official production of its highly anticipated 1199 Panigale and when the first machine came off the Ducati assembly line in Bologna, Italy yesterday the company’s top brass — President Gabriele Del Torchio, General Director Claudio Domenicali and Plant Director Silvano Fini —were there to celebrate their newest creation by hosing it down with a bottle of bubbly; a Ducati tradition.

The 1199 Panigale is expected to arrive on Canadian showroom floors this spring, but we’ll be covering the bike’s international press launch in three weeks time, so look for full report on what is considered to be Ducati’s most innovative production motorcycle to date in the May issue of Cycle Canada magazine and of course here online.
