2012 MV Agusta F4 RR Pictures and Details

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

After a teaser video last week, MV Agusta have now released pictures and specs for their 2012 F4 RR. MV’s latest piece of “motorcycle art” is powered by an all new 998 cc, short-stroke, 4-cylinder, radial valve engine putting out a claimed 201 cv at 13,400 rpm and 58 lb-ft of torque at 9200 rpm. Now there seems to be some confusion as to how many horsepower 201 cv actually is. The motorcycle press has it listed as either 198 or 201 hp. Even the Italian MV Agusta website has it converted as 200 hp on their English version web page banner and in the spec sheet, but then as 201 hp in their written overview of the new machine. Either way, it’s a crapload of power, up 10 hp from MV’s last iteration of the F4 RR in 2009. Coupled with the RR’s newly designed engine (featuring “aerospace RR alloy” pistons) is a new 4-2-1-4 exhaust system. Suspension and steering damper is by Öhlins, with a multi-adjustable 43 mm fork at the front and TTX 36 shock at the back. Brakes, as you’d expect, are by Brembo, and wheels are forged aluminum.

The 2012 MV Agusta F4 RR comes in matte white or two-tone red/white and is listed in Italy at  € 22,900. Canadian pricing and availability on the F4 RR are TBA, but Tim Massarelli of MV Agusta Canada told us that, “if all goes as planned it should be available in Canada in the fall” (2011).
