Triumph Tiger 800 Full Specs

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

After Triumph’s long and drawn out marketing campaign for their all-new Tiger 800 adventure tourer, we almost forgot that it was finally “officially” unveiled at EICMA this week. Now that we have the full specs,  it doesn’t look like the Tiger 800 is the BMW F800GS beater that many thought or hoped it would be, at least not on paper. The 210 kg (wet) Tiger 800 claims 94 hp and 58lb/ft of torque, while the off-road biased Tiger 800XC claims the same output but is 5 kg heavier. Compare those figures to the 85 hp BMW’s 62lb/ft of torque, and lighter, 207 kg curb weight, and the Triumph does not necessarily overwhelm. We’re thinking price point (TBA) will be a big factor in determining the Tiger 800’s success against the F800GS,  and we’ll of course reserve total judgement until we actually ride one.
