McCormick to race at Mid-Ohio and Laguna

Jordan Suzuki team manager Pete Mauhur has confirmed that 2009 Parts Canada Superbike Championship runner-up Brett McCormick will continue riding the #23 Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 AMA Pro Superbike in place of Aaron Yates who is still recovering from a fractured right leg suffered during a warm up session crash on March 28 at Auto Club Speedway.

“He’s still on crutches. He still hasn’t put weight on it, so he’s a no for Mid-Ohio and Leguna, for sure,” Mauhur said of Yates’ recovery.

This means McCormick, who currently sits 10th overall in the AMA Superbike standings, will see action in at least another two AMA rounds this season—Mid-Ohio, July 16-18 and Laguna Seca, July 23-25. Good news for the Saskatoon native, whose challenge to Jordan Szoke’s defense of the Canadian superbike crown is sorely missed this year.

See Brett talk about his progress with the Jordan team this season in the video below.
