Nicky Hayden Unveils his 2010 MotoGP Weapon

Ducati MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden was as excited as a kid at Christmas about seeing his new Desmosedici GP10 racer during a recent tour of the Ducati Corse factory.

“…I guess I could say Santa came early for me this year, because when I got to see my new bike it was kinda like Christmas morning, but looks like I will have to wait to till February before I get to take my new toy out and play with it,” wrote Hayden on his blog.

Apparently Hayden’s excitement at seeing his new toy compelled him unwittingly unveil it to the world on his personal website.

“Here are a few photos from my visit to Ducati. I came by yesterday to check in with the fellas and to see my new weapon for the 2010 racing season. There are a lot of changes that have gone on at Ducati in the last bit, but the one thing that never changes is the passion.”

A noticeable change is a larger vent on the side fairing, likely to keep the engine cooler and help prolong its life, as teams will only be allowed six engines per bike for all 18 MotoGP races in 2010. Also clearly visible in Hayden’s pic are carbon brake discs.
