One hundred identically prepared BMW R1200GS motorcycles, as well as 14 GS Adventures, are currently en route to Thailand for the International GS Trophy competition. Nineteen teams are taking part in the Trophy, which tests riding skill as opposed to speed.

The 2016 GS Trophy commences February 28 in Thailand’s Chang Mai province. It will take the Beemers 40 days to get there via container ship from Hamburg, Germany. The 100 GSs are for competitors, the 14 GSAs for marshals. All have been heavily accessorized to cope with tough off-road conditions.
