Honda VFR1200X coming to Canada

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Honda’s VFR1200X, based on the discontinued VFR1200F and known as the Crosstourer in Europe, has been available overseas since 2012 – and it’s finally coming to North America. Honda says the decision to bring the big VFR across the pond now is the result of “the growing popularity of the adventure-touring segment.”

With a 1,237 cc V-four, it has the largest displacement in Honda’s ADV lineup. It comes in manual shift or DCT flavours, both versions with selectable traction control, linked ABS and shaft drive. “The 19- and 17-inch wheels,” says Honda, “offer capable road-going performance, while the inverted 43 mm fork and single-sided swingarm incorporate modern suspension technologies.” One-hand-adjustable windscreen, handguards and accessory socket come standard.

Sounds promising, and based on its popularity in Europe you’d expect it to be a steady seller here. As yet, no Canadian price has been set.
