Moncton Motorcycle Show coming to town

By: Cycle Canada Published on 4 February 2014

New motorcycles and ATVs will be on display at the Moncton Motorcycle Show, to be held at the Moncton Coliseum Feb. 14–16.
It’s Atlantic Canada’s only comprehensive motorcycle show and most manufacturers, from, Aprilia to Yamaha, will show their 2014 bikes there. As at other shows across Canada, the Moncton show will feature She Rides Night on the Friday with special programs for female motorcyclists and a half-price admission for girls and women after 5 p.m.
Yamaha will put on a riding academy for youngsters, a chance for kids six to 12 to ride on a small off-road Yamaha around a closed course with instructors at hand. Kids will be loaned riding gear and will have 15-minute riding sessions.
A Hub city stunt show will feature a Moncton stunting group doing wheelies, burnouts, and other motorcycling tricks.  It’s on several times throughout the show weekend.
Off-road instructor Clinton Smout will demonstrate some techniques for riding over obstacles, riding on gravel, and other activities. Smout is a well-respected instructor from the Horseshoe Valley region of southern Ontario, and he’s a funny guy, too.
A Harley-Davidson “jump start” program will let people with no riding experience feel the rumble. A stationary support stand will hold a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in place while a person gets on, fires up the engine, and shifts through the gears.
The show will have displays by clubs, insurance providers, training organizations, and others.
