Continental Tire Recall

By: Cycle Canada Published on 29 January 2013

Continental Tires has announced a voluntary recall on ContiMotion motorcycle tires. The recall affects approximately 1700 tires, sold in 2011 and 2012, and fitted to 1800 GoldWings on the rear wheel. Overloading and / or underinflation of the tire may result in a loss of pressure.

The tires affected are ContiMotion 180/60R16 74H spec units. Under certain conditions, these tires may experience uneven wear, groove cracking and, in some cases, belt lift. This may lead to a loss of inflation that may result in a potential loss of control and an accident. Continental reports that no accidents have been reported as a result of this condition.

The tires bear serial number H60LJJE5110 through H60LJJE3811. Continental is in communication with tire distributors and dealers to identify customers who have purchased affected tires.

If you think you may have a tire that falls under this recall, more information is available on Continental’s website.
