Continental Tire Recall

Continental Tires has announced a voluntary recall on ContiMotion motorcycle tires. The recall affects approximately 1700 tires, sold in 2011 and 2012, and fitted to 1800 GoldWings on the rear wheel. Overloading and / or underinflation of the tire may result in a loss of pressure.

The tires affected are ContiMotion 180/60R16 74H spec units. Under certain conditions, these tires may experience uneven wear, groove cracking and, in some cases, belt lift. This may lead to a loss of inflation that may result in a potential loss of control and an accident. Continental reports that no accidents have been reported as a result of this condition.

The tires bear serial number H60LJJE5110 through H60LJJE3811. Continental is in communication with tire distributors and dealers to identify customers who have purchased affected tires.
