The Greatest Show on Earth

The video below is just over six minutes long, but it feels like two. The bikes getting out of shape over bumps and helmets passing what seems like inches away from garden walls is cause for a little sweat in the palms. Spectators sit horrifyingly close to the edge of the circuit and it seems like the sole nod to safety are thin pads strapped to the lightpoles. Part of the fun in watching this video is trying to decipher the broad Midlands accents.

Billed as “The Greatest Show on Earth”, this video of the 2012 Isle of Man may just inspire you to pack your bags, book a ferry ride and find a fence to lean against and watch this unique spectacle live.
