Ride to Work Day June 21

By: Cycle Canada Published on 2 June 2010

The Canadian Motorcycle Association, together with the FIM will mark the 19th Annual International Ride To Work Day on June 21. Originally begun in the US in response to an Aerostich RiderWear T-shirt with the slogan, ‘Work To Ride, Ride To Work,’ the day has since become an international event taking place on the third Monday of every June.

Street riders are encouraged to show fellow Canadians the advantages of commuting on two wheels and demonstrate responsible use of resources by riding their motorcycle or scooter to work.

Single track vehicles relieve traffic congestion in busy cities, requiring much less space to park and manoeuvre. They also use less fuel, cause less pollution and less impact on the road and bridge infrastructure than automobiles.
