Yamaha R1 recall

By: Cycle Canada Published on 4 December 2015

A recall (#2015559) has been issued for the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1.

On certain bikes, the recall states, the second gear wheel and the pinion gears in the transmission may not be strong enough, which in high stress situations could cause transmission internals to deform or break.

The fix? Dealers will replace the transmission assembly with one including differently designed gears.
