Welsh dusts off leathers for doubleheader dust-up

Alex Welsh, who hasn’t run a Canadian Superbike race since 2013, is coming out of semi-retirement to compete in the season-ending doubleheader this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (the venue formerly known as Mosport).

Welsh will be piloting a Hindle-backed Yamaha YZF-R1M in the Pro Superbike class, the bike having been prepped and tuned in-house by Hindle Exhaust’s Scott Cartier, as well as Willie Vass of Vass Performance Cycle.

“Obviously, I am really excited to be back and looking forward to having a bit of fun,” Welsh said. “That said, I am under no illusions on how tough the competition will be. The team has been working hard to get the bike ready over the last month or two, so hopefully we can do our best to showcase what it is capable of because it really is an amazing new motorcycle.”
