Kawasaki unveils Vulcan S

Kawasaki recently revealed its newest entry-level cruiser, the Vulcan S ABS ($7,999).

A 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin powers the Vulcan S. Working through a six-speed transmission, power is fed to the 17-inch rear wheel via chain drive. It has a 41 mm telescopic fork and single shock that’s preload adjustable. Braking is provided by a single 300 mm front disc and 250 mm rear, and – as you likely guessed – ABS comes standard. Seat height is 705 mm and curb mass is 226 kg. It comes in black, white, purple, and, of course, green.

Kawasaki says the Vulcan S “is not your average cruiser” and “does not require the rider to conform to any heard-mentality [sic] fashion or lifestyle.” We’re not sure what that means, but when we hear back about it we’ll let you know.
