Zero recalls electric bikes

Zero Motorcycles is recalling some 2014 electric motorcycles for a potential fault that could lock up the rear wheel.

The motor’s rotor could contact and stator while the bike is in motion, causing the motor to seize, says a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration press release.

Affected models are the 2014 SR, S, DS, and FX made approximately from December 2013 through February 2014. Zero will test affected models and replace the motor, if necessary. Zero will notify dealers and owners of bikes affected and will make the repairs free of charge.
