First Ducati Superleggera rolls off assembly line

It may be prohibitively expensive ($70,000 here in Canada), but that didn’t stop people from pre-ordering Ducati’s 1199 Superleggera, a true top-of-the-line superbike being produced as a limited edition of 500 units.

Ducati recently released a brief YouTube video showing some behind the scenes footage from the Superleggera production line, as well as the first finished product. Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO, and Silvano Fini, Ducati production director, provide some vague information about the project, and if you read the subtitles fast enough you might even see what they’re talking about.

Still, it’s interesting to see how these machines are put together, even if we’re given only a quick glimpse. To watch the video, click here.
