Ducati museum goes digital

Want to take a tour of the Ducati Museum but can’t make it to Bologna? No problem, just log on to Google Maps.

The museum is located at Ducati headquarters in Borgo Panigale, a quarter of the city of Bologna, Italy. Visitors can examine more than 40 Ducati motorcycles, from vintage to modern, all while ambling around a giant red helmet that dominates the center of the facility. There are also seven theme rooms with bikes, videos and mementoes. Each room, says Ducati, creates “an emotional experience.”

Most of us will never make it to the actual museum, but, by teaming up with Google, Ducati is allowing us to experience it virtually. The entire museum – apparently even the gift shop – can be explored by taking a high-resolution virtual tour using Google Maps. Click here to peruse the Ducati Museum from the comfort of your couch, online and at leisure.
