At the Tokyo Motor Show

Yamaha is showing a concept electric bike at the Tokyo Motor Show this week, as well as an electric version of the company’s Vino scooter, called the Evino, according to the Engadget website.

The PES1 electric road bike is lightweight, and can switch from fully automatic to manual shifting. Yamaha is also showing a PED1 off-road version.

The Evino is powered by a lithium-ion battery.

They’re only concept bikes, so there’s no certainty that they will be produced, but Yamaha’s interest in electric vehicles is readily shown.
