Canadian Superbike, Round 3

Jordan Szoke defends his series lead this weekend in the third round of the Canadian Superbike Championship at the 2.56km long, 11-turn Atlantic Motorsports Park. Szoke can count five wins at AMP. His past record may be of little comfort against a competitive field including Andrew Nelson, who is only 11 points behind Szoke in the standings.

Kevin Lacombe set the fastest time in Friday’s Superbike practice session with a 1:08.485 lap. Szoke posted the next fastest time in the session, followed by Frank Trombino. Steve Crevier showed that he is still the man to beat in the XR1200 class, turning in a fastest lap in practice of 1:13.012. The top time in the CBR250R class was Stacey Nesbitt, last year’s 125cc champion, with a 1:22.903.

Full results are available on the Canadian Superbike website. Sunday’s feature race looks to run under sunny skies and temperatures of 26°C.
