Recall: 2011 Ducati Diavel

By: Cycle Canada Published on 18 August 2011

Transport Canada has issued a recall notice for the 2011 Ducati Diavel for a problem with the beefy Italian cruiser’s side stand. Full details from Transport Canada below.

Transport Canada Recall # 2011297

Manufacturer Recall # RCL-11-003

Recall Details

On certain Diavel and Diavel Carbon motorcycles, the side stand was incorrectly manufactured and could fail. This could allow the side stand to bend or break, causing the motorcycle to become unstable while resting on the stand, which could result in damage to the motorcycle and/or personal injury. Additionally, severe deformation or breakage of the stand could interfere with the side stand’s safety switch operation, causing the engine to fail to start and/or run properly. Correction: Dealers will replace the side stand and pivot bolt with updated versions.
