Ducati Unveils Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

In celebration of winning the heavyweight class at Pikes Peak last year, Ducati has released the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition as an early 2012 model today. The Italian manufacturer also used the occasion to announce its entry in the 2011 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Piloting the Multistrada 1200s up the mountain once again will be Greg Tracy and Alexander Smith.

Finished in a Ducati Corse paint scheme, the Pikes Peak Special Edition Multistrada features cosmetic changes such as red pin striped wheels and passenger foot peg hangers and engine guard anodized in black. Upgrades include a carbon fibre mudguard, a carbon fibre, race-style, low windscreen, and a “custom” seat with red stitching.  Each Pikes Peak Special Edition will also come with a numbered badge mounted on the engine crankcase cover.

The 2012 Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition will be available in Canada from June 2011 onwards, says Ducati, with an MSRP of $22,995.
