Recall: 2009-2010 Kawasaki Vulcan

By: Cycle Canada Published on 24 November 2010

Transport Canada has announced a recall of Kawasaki’s 2009-2010 Vulcan cruisers, saying the machines’ ECU needs to replaced to resolve a stalling issue. Models affected are:  Vulcan 1700 Voyager, Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS, Vulcan Classic, Vulcan Classic LT, Vulcan Nomad. The official recall wording is below.

Certain motorcycles may stall under deceleration due to an improper setting of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This could create the potential for a crash, resulting in injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
